About red zone graphics
Why we chose Red Zone for our name When Mount St. Helens awoke, a "safety perimeter" was established for the public before the May 18, 1980 eruption. This designated restricted zone was called the "Red Zone." Our home is located far from this restricted area, but only 6 miles from the edge of the actual Mount St. Helens blast zone. The volcano surprised and awed the world and remains a monument to the Earth's power! The emotions it conjures of this incredible power of nature are highlighted in scenes from the nightly news-images of Katrina's devastation, raging forest fires, and retreating polar ice caps. The world is calling out to us; it is time to stand up and listen. |
